Are my bearings pressed down far enough? I put about 4 tons of pressure on em and thought they were seated. Any input would be much appreciated! I think you mean welding the bearing/axle retainers to the axle housing, not the shafts...like someone mentioned the shaft has to rotate and the retainers DON'T rotate. that would be a mess. I think there was a problem with your bearings if you broke a shaft and the entire shaft walked out.
